Valley Isle Resort – Oceanfront Vacation Rentals in Maui

Valley Isle Resort

Imagine waking up in the morning to the sound of waves crashing against the shore. You walk out to your private lanai and take in the day while admiring the ocean steps away. That’s what you can expect when staying in a Valley Isle Resort vacation rental condo.

Located in the Kahana subdivision of Lahaina in West Maui, Valley Isle Resort is an oceanfront condominium complex with a laid-back vibe. It has a great blend of all that West Maui has to offer without the crowds you’ll typically find at larger resorts such as Ka'anapali.

Sound good? We think so! But you should know that we’re slightly biased as we own a condo there. However, don’t let that stop you from reading on and learning about all that these vacation rentals have to offer. You may end up liking them as much as we do!

Condos at Valley Isle Resort

Accommodations at Valley Isle Resort include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom condos with private lanais and oceanfront or garden view options. They also come equipped with a full kitchen, allowing you to prepare your own meals and save on dining.

Many of the condos are privately owned. While the floorplans are the same, all of the condos are slightly different and decorated based on the owner’s taste. The condition will also vary, making it imperative to check the photos before booking a privately owned condo.

Below you will find a selection of what we feel are some of the best condos at Valley Isle Resort. We’ve only included condos that are in great condition and well-reviewed, making it easier for you to find a good condo to stay in when planning your trip.

Not seeing anything available? You can view a wider selection of condos on the Valley Isle Resort VRBO page or contact owners directly on the Valley Isle Resort website.

When searching for condos, it may be confusing to know what’s available. That’s because it’s up to each owner to decide how to promote them. You can contact some owners directly on the Valley Isle Resort website or book through a company like VRBO.

Additionally, when booking a privately owned condo, you’ll be booking directly with the owner, not the resort itself. Keep in mind that each owner will likely run things differently. If you book through a company like VRBO, the process should be fairly standard, and you’ll be protected should any issues arise during your trip.

About Valley Isle Resort

Valley Isle Resort isn’t your typical resort. A lot of places in Maui use the word resort in their name, but they’re not what some people would consider a true resort. Valley Isle Resort is actually classified as a condotel, a condominium complex that operates as a hotel.

With a front desk, beautiful lobby, pool, and BBQs, Valley Isle does have a resort feel. However, it doesn’t have the number of amenities you can find at resorts in Ka'anapali. That is typical of these types of condos. They are no-frills but can give you a similar feel for a lower price.

You won’t find any crowds here, which is another benefit to some people (us included). It’s typically quiet, and the beaches aren’t busy, making for a laid-back and relaxed vibe. Valley Isle Resort is a great option if you want to be close to the action while avoiding the crowds.

Amenities at Valley Isle Resort

Valley Isle Resort has all of the common amenities you’d expect from a complex like this. That includes a swimming pool, BBQs, free wifi and cable, and washers and dryers. They also have a surfboard storage area that’s great for storing rentals from Boss Frogs across the street.

Another perk of staying here is the direct beach access. There is a small beach in front of the resort, depending on the time of year, and the beach next door is always there year-round. If you’re staying on the ground floor, you can literally walk to it from your condo!

Finally, like many condos in this area, Valley Isle Resort is a great place for whale watching during the winter months. The first time we experienced this, we were blown away. You can see whales breaching all day without leaving the condo.

Nearby Restaurants and Stores

One of our favorite things about Valley Isle Resort is the area it’s located. Kahana is a walkable subdivision in West Maui with a small selection of restaurants and stores. The area isn’t big but it’s perfect for grabbing a bite to eat or a quick snack if you don’t want to venture out.

Some of our favorite walking distance restaurants include:

  • Maui Brewing Company – Vibrant brewpub located in the back left corner of Kahana Gateway Plaza, serving up delicious food and over 22 types of locally brewed beers on tap
  • Dollie’s Pub & Cafe – Fantastic spot to catch the game, grab some pizza or pasta, and enjoy happy hour with a full bar, all available for dine-in, takeout, or delivery.
  • Miso Phat Sushi – Located across the street from the resort in the Kahana Manor Shops, offers some of the best sushi on Maui with an extensive menu.
  • Beach House Bar and Grill – Located next door at the Sands of Kahana, offering poolside casual dining, a full menu with a variety of options, and a full bar with happy hour.

There aren’t any grocery stores within walking distance, but there are a couple of stores where you can pick up small food items. Here are a few of the stores nearby:

  • Whalers General Store – Convenient and well-stocked store with a service deli, perfect for grabbing snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.
  • Tradewinds Kahana Grocery – Located across the street and another convenient option for grabbing drinks, snacks, and essential items.
  • Boss Frogs – The go-to spot for all your beach gear needs, including snorkel gear, surfboards, paddleboards, chairs, and umbrellas.

Nearby Attractions

Valley Isle Resort is centrally located near many of West Maui’s popular attractions, including Lahaina Town, Ka'anapali, Naplil Bay, and Kapalua. It’s a 10-minute drive to most places you’ll want to visit, making it a great home base when staying in West Maui.

Activities on this side of the island are plentiful and too numerous to list here. Things like golfing, hiking, luaus, sunset cruises, snorkeling, and whale-watching tours are all nearby. If you’re looking for something to do, you won’t be lacking options.

Why Choose Valley Isle Resort?
